It's great for people, and you can set the scan-region to ignore traffic passing by, but there is really no way to tell it to ignore assorted critters walking across your pathway. About 80% of my alerts are for the neighborhood critters passing by my door.Neither setting the detection regions nor using the intelligent analytics is able to eliminate these false alerts.If you lawn is at least 20 feet deep and you don't have critters walking by, this is worth it. Otherwise, pass!After numerous late night and early morning harassments at my front and back doors I got Ring to give me a sense of security as well as to find out who has been bothering me. It has worked and I feel much more secure as an older woman living alone.Finally broke down and bought a Ring. So far so good. Has a excellent picture quality, easy to set up and I paired it with my echo dot 3 plus. I didn't want to drill holes in my brick so I purchased a door mount separately. Absolutely love the door mount. A free cover was also offered after I purchased the Ring, completely free, didn't have to pay shipping either :) The app is easy to use and I particularly like that other neighbors in the area can share their Ring videos to alert neighbors of suspicious activity, lost/found pets and crime.This helped my son get his neighbor evicted. He was violent, vandalism, walking around naked around small children playing outside, and tried to get into my son's apartment!! The cops never did anything till my son was able to prove it.Kept us in contact with one another in the neighbourhood. No internet, no water, no electricity but we could talk and help one another.I do love my Ring doorbell, but the only thing that needs improvement is the motion detection area. I live on a busy street and my house faces the traffic so it’s continually going off for a bus or some vehicle. That’s my only complaint.While I like the product itself, the negatives are a relatively short battery life if you are unable to connect to low voltage. My intercom system has low voltage, but not enough which is strange. Also, could not ring my internal doorbell of my system. returned it after 2 days.Excellently happy with our Ring Doorbell. We live in second floor apartment, it enables to know who's at the door before go downstairs to answer the door. We are also able check to people walking around the front of our house. Glad we got it.
